Dear Members and Visitors,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for giving myself and the team (AAF Leisure Ltd) such a warm reception since we undertook management of this prestigious golf club in August 2010.
We feel we have developed an amazing product. The team has been working hard at enhancing every aspect of the club and the feedback is very positive. In our analysis the course is now one of the most rewarding to play in Essex and this would only keep improving as we continue our efforts. Unlike our predecessors, the now non-existent Weald Park Hotel Golf and Country Club, our focus at Weald Park Golf Club is on solely providing the best golfing experience. To that end we are keen on disassociating Weald Park Golf Club from Weald Park Hotel Golf and Country Club.
Your support has been overwhelming and encourages our commitment to continuously improving and refurbishing the course and other facilities on site. We remodelled various parts of the course, which I am sure are already being enjoyed by you all. Below are a few of the things we have done:
- New irrigation sprinkler heads to all greens
- Updated and serviced all irrigation sprinkler systems as well as running new
systems to tees that previously lacked that provision
- Completed all undergrowth clearance, formation of lakes and landscaping of areas
between 3rd, 4th and 16th holes
- Over-seeding, weeding and feeding of all tees and greens
- Upgraded course furniture and signage
- Disassociating Weald Park Golf Club from Weald Park Hotel Golf and Country Club
- Piped and filled all current drains with additional drainage as and where required
- Invested in new machinery and equipment i.e Green, Fairway and ancillary
mowers, Tractors and Utility Vehicles (John Deer)
- Supplied a new fleet of Club Golf Cars from Old Forge Garden Machinery Ltd
(OFGM) one of the leading manufacturers of Golf Cars, supplying many of the
worlds leading golf courses and resorts. These electric versions offer a quick
acceleration and smooth handling that help differentiate your game.
We aim to continue improving all facilities without disrupting the golfing experience or sociable ambience on site for either members or visitors.
Last year I was offered the privileged position of Club Captain which I accepted with pride. I hope as Captain I can create a friendly and vibrant club, which makes Past, Present and New members feel welcome. I am certain that with the support of all our members and staff, we will create a Club that members and visitors will be excited to be part of. I look forward to playing with as many members as possible, giving me the opportunity to get to know you better. It will also give you the chance to see my 'golf game' up close, for which I apologise in advance.
